As many of us return to work, we do so with a measure of uncertainty, and in some cases a great level of concern. Rarely has mental health been more at the forefront for our workforce. Looking out for yourself & those around you is now possibly your most important skill. Our return to the industry will be filled with new & old emotions that need to be reconciled, which is why we’re bringing The Behind the Scenes' Mental Health First Aid Training to Summer NAMM.

The Behind the Scenes charity is offering in-person Mental Health First Aid Training with a focus on live events professionals on July 14th in Nashville, in cooperation with the Event Safety Alliance, Show Makers, & NAMM Foundation

Mental Health First Aid training provides an individual the tools necessary to initiate support for anyone who may be showing signs of a mental health or substance use concern, or experiencing a crisis, and help connect them with the appropriate care. The training helps to eliminate the fear and hesitation from starting conversations relating to mental health and substance use problems. By teaching how to recognize the signs and symptoms that may be early indicators of a mental health challenge, how to listen non judgmentally and provide support, and how to steer someone toward appropriate professional services, this training creates the confidence necessary to be an effective first responder in a mental health crisis. Upon completion, attendees will receive a certification valid for three years conferred by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing.

Class size is extremely limited, so participants are encouraged to register early.
