G4S security guard found dead in his tent at Glastonbury on last night of festival

A man has died after working over the weekend at the Glastonbury Festival. The man, who was in his 60s, was a security guard working on the site and his body was discovered in his tent at 5pm yesterday evening, police confirmed. He worked for G4S which provided 25 security guards at the site to ensure people’s safety. He had been working on night shifts over the weekend and his firm offered their condolences to his family. However, he had not worked in the 24 hours in the run-up to his death. A G4S spokesman said: ‘At 5:00 pm on Sunday 30 June, one of our employees was found dead in his tent at Glastonbury Festival, where he had been working as a security officer. ‘The next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with his loved ones at this difficult time.’
