Event Safety Alliance at the Prolight + Sound Show Guangzhou 2019

Event Safety Alliance once again took part in the PLSG Annual Training Course Seminar Program on the first day of the trade show in the Chinese metropolis located in the Pearl River Delta. Jimmy Chan, Director of Asia Business Development for the ESA explained the focus of the ESA in promoting “life safety first”,  while Tim Roberts, ESA Board Member and Managing Director of The Event Safety Shop (TESS), gave a general overview of the importance of regarding safety aspects when refurbishing and renovating venues. Their presentations were followed by a very dramatic plea by Mr. Ran Li from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China to change the prevailing culture in regard to health and safety at live performance venues in China.

ESA affiliate member VPLT, The German Entertainment Technology Association, supports the trade show, which counted 76.000 visitors in 2018, by providing topics for the seminar program and has been working together with the ESA for the last few years to ensure that event safety is an essential part of the Prolight + Sound conferences worldwide.
